Link... Geophysicists find the crusty culprits behind sudden tectonic plate movementsPincho says... I was expecting to read some physics, so I'm a bit disappointed. So I will have a go at the physics myself. The first thing I thought about was abrupt movements in nature. So I thought about slipping on a patch of ice. Your feet move until they get a grip, and then you stop. So what is a slip, and then a grip in quantum physics? Well I use gravity as a flow force through a grain structure, and grain structures are particle stacking systems. When it comes to liquids the grain is nicely organised. Water in an organised state refracts light, so you know that the organisation is a bit different to the air. So I turn gravity to match the shapes that biological life forms use in water, and fish are a bunch of diagonally organised shapes. So water I have as a diagonal alignment of gravity, criss-crossing in X shapes. Air I follow the tree as straight, and diagonal repeating patterns. Near to the ground straightening up, and under the soil finding gaps as roots. Once you get some gravity shapes in your head you apply them to the tectonic plates. So your stiff plates would be best locked by gravity moving straight down, and the sliding plates swing gravity more horizontal until the flow rotates back to straight down again. So it would be a rotating series of holes that create the area of least resistance, and when a snap occurs they turn more horizontal you get sliding. Ok so that is my example of what physics should really be like. I'm just amazed that we never get to read real physics. Pincho Paxton
