The explanation in the link is backwards, and it presumes pull forces exist. The real explanation is that the negative particles are in fact holes with gravity flowing into them pushing out the positive particles, and flattening the sphere into a rugby ball. Once you eliminate pull forces you are only left with real physics that are far easier to understand.
