Nostrils for example were also feelers at one time, and feelers pointing outwards were like early legs, and arms, and so were eyes... Evolution Does The Hokey CokeyThe reason for these mutations are to do with sea worm evolution, and their ability to regenerate body parts, which was originally quite unstable. So survival of the fittest really means that physical changes where a worm regenerated incorrectly were stored, and some survived. Some snakes with horns survived with the mutations originating from sea worms. It doesn't really have to mean very much at all. Pincho Paxton
