Link... An awkward family reunion: Sea monsters are our cousinsPincho says... Probability tells me that there is a low chance that we are related to sea lamprey, because worms would have already left the water before sea lamprey existed. Being as we evolved from worms we should have skipped out this creature completely. So instead we get a new scenario that the brain similarities crossed over from an amphibian that became the sea lamprey. A divergence close to when our brain evolved, but still a divergence.
