Atom Heart Oz
Over the years a lot of Pink Floyd albums have been synced to movies. Pink Floyd have denied any connection between their music, and the films involved. But what if a studio decided to make a movie that synced with an old album? I'm telling you now that it has happened just recently. Atom Heart Oz the sync between Atom Heart Mother, and Oz The Great And Powerful is a deliberate sync by Sam Raimi. If you play the CD from the title you get half of the film in sync, and then it goes out. But this is where the studio has been clever. Swap the track around, and you get perfect syncs like an audio edit. You can use almost any track in any position.
How do I know it's fake?
Well, I am actually deciding if luck is more likely than Disney deciding to copy Wizard Of Oz. Disney tributed Wizard Of Oz all the way through the film, so to make a tribute to Dark Side Of The Rainbow makes sense. For the syncs to be created by chance, well no movie so far has synced like this one... 99%. So this is the best sync of all time, and Disney would want the best sync of all time. This sync is also a 3D film to Quadrophonic music, and certain syncs are directional. There is a Quadraphonic organ sound on the Pink Floyd album that flies from speaker to speaker. In the movie there is an actual flying organ, that is lifted into the air by the tornado. The flying organ locates to the 3D location of the Quadraphonic music. Another clue is that at the end of the movie a midget puts on a smiley face, and you hear "Fooled you!"
It a perfect sync all the way through apart from 1 minute standing in water when the Wizard lands in Oz. It has jokes, and songs, and scary sequences, train sounds for trains, drum sounds for people playing drums, and trumpet sounds for people playing trumpets. Sound effects used very well all the way through the film. Some sound effects like whistling are synced to someone whistling. I don't know many movies where someone starts whistling, and for the wizard to suddenly start whistling is unlikely. He is manufactured to whistle by a small insect. The CD also includes some very strange talking sequences, and it would be hard to sync all of the CD, but it is all used. There is a tornado sound that is actually a train sound, and it always falls in the right place when the track is played several times in the movie. First it falls to the tornado, then it falls to a second tornado, then it falls to the train tracks of the scarecrows, and finally it falls to a kiss, and an Oz impersonation. It is hard to make a train sound fit into a scenario, yet it fits into at least 5 scenarios in the movie. But the best scenes of all are the China Doll scenes. She has her own musical interludes. She is a doll, puppet, and when the words start making sense it is because she is a doll puppet. Don't put wires in my brain! Puppets have wires in their heads. She is hiding, the words are "When I am afraid I can hide." And the song just conveys all of her movements for about 5 minutes. You think Wow! Then another song begins, and conveys all of her movements for another 5 minutes. And then it as though Disney decided not to hide the fact that this is a joke anymore, and the whole film is in sync, and the sync just keeps getting better, and better, until it jokes about itself being a sync.
You can watch this sync, and many more here now if you are a friend of Uncle Pythagoras...
