Relevant Link... HP printers start rejecting budget ink cartridgesWhen you buy a device, that should be the property that you own forever with no updates. If it works when you buy it, then it doesn't need updating, apart from computers. All technology apart from computers should be closed to alterations, otherwise you end up with something that you didn't actually buy in the first place. If the item is now different than when you bought it you need a brand new guarantee. I have bought several items that were broken after I bought them by software updates. An LG TV didn't work for a few months because of an update, they then fixed it again. The Sony PS3 console had some CD playability removed from it for SACD discs. Now HP have changed their devices. This should be illegal, because it is too easy to create an artificial lifespan for technology, say 3 years, and then it suddenly breaks down. Pincho Paxton
