Scientists are looking for the cortical conscious network, but I believe that the mind is mostly the mechanics of the whole brain, and it works like a game of swingball. New study looks for the cortical conscious network Swingball is a game that you can play on your own. A tennis ball is attached to a flexible band that rotates the ball around a pole in a complete 360 deg rotation back to the single player. So you can hit the ball with a paddle, and it will come back to you. You can have fun hitting the ball high, and it will curve with resistance against a ring, it can come back to you at different heights, and different speeds. That is you controlling the serve, and you controlling the volley. The mind is the same as a serve, and volley with a question, and an answer. In other words a loop can be a person effecting their own future from their past with gradients of information like the height, and speed in swingball. Consciousness is a game of swingball. That was Nov 2016, and now the idea is growing.
To the idea above I add the invisible doppelganger. There is a conscious player where you are in control of your thoughts, and the outcome, and there is another player which is invisible. You send your doppelganger a loop of information which is sent back to you logically adjusted without your conscious help. It means that your brain has an automated reply to your initial thoughts, and the automated reply has a different personality to the one that you are in control of. You are however responsible for restricting the outflow of that other personality. When you run out of ideas your emotions take over, and the emotions are most likely coming from your doppelganger.
That is a game of swingball with your other self which is not you.
It might sound a little bit crazy, because that other self is where a lot of insanity comes from, but most people can control the final result of the two players playing swingball with ideas.
It would make a very interesting computer program, and could even be the final piece of the jigsaw for real Ai.
