It's a good story, but the animals most likely lived in Wiltshire. The weather is the same, and the food that the animals eat is the same, so the animals just moved over in a few generations of breeding between sites. It means maybe that there were a few sites between Wiltshire, and Scotland where people were moving between, and then staying there.
