Here's my test...
I just tested it out on a Cappuccino. I held the milk down a bit longer, and the coffee down a bit longer to share the workload. Surprisingly the water didn't run clear, but was still milky, foggy, and frothy, so the drink wasn't weakened as much as you might think. It tastes OK. Just remember to add a bit more sugar than usual.
So it actually works quite well.
