Some people are leaders, and others are followers so cause and effect is switched depending on if you are a leader or a follower. It's the same as a bow wave effect. The original way around was more accurate, because the length of time that people followed the bow wave was much longer than the leaders coming up with the Gods, so more people followed the event than started the event.
