Do violent video games numb us towards real violence?

My own observations say that people are numb to empathy before they even play the video games. If you watch TV dramas for example, and listen to the music choices for the scenes, they are off kilter. For example in the TV drama Manifest Season 1 there is a relationship with a married man, and his ex partner who went missing. They have a sexual relationship behind the wife's back, and the music is all jolly, and nice, because the empathy is pointed towards them getting back together again, and forget about the wife. We are supposed to like that part of the drama??? It's a terrible situation so who comes up with the psychology for most of these TV dramas? I find that the psychology in TV dramas show some malfunction in empathy spread around the world already. So how can the study find no fault? There is always a fault.
