Link... Physicists discover a novel quantum state in an elemental solidPincho says... Gravity scales down when it collides, it can be forced to collide through certain patterns of holes. Then it outflows, and the outflow can also be forced to collide again, but it gets more difficult each time. You get the Quantum Hall effect from the way that gravity scales down, because gravity is segmented by kissing number shapes. It scales down in a mathematical way, because space is quantized. It seems to me that this experiment has forced a rare gravity collision to happen, forcing gravity to scale down after it has already been scaled down a few times, creating a gapless state on the way out.
