Movies are especially made to be unpredictable.. a twist ending isn't called a twist for no reason. In Game Of Thrones for example Daenerys Targaryen the dragon lady suddenly switches character like a psychopath which nobody expected, but it was mainly because the ending was predictable otherwise.
Of course simplicity does lead to complexity so the study is right. I can only predict Heaven so much, not all of it.

If you started watching a movie from the middle without knowing its plot, you'd likely be better at inferring what had happened earlier than predicting what will happen next, according to a new study.
