Link... Lab experiment mimics early-stage planetary formation processPincho says... All of this is fairly obvious when you don't think about 'sticking', and 'pull forces'. Electric fields are fields of holes, and sticking really means fitting in the hole with an outer membrane with a flow force of gravity towards you so that you can't escape so easily. Planets, and stars start off in holes in a gauss, they rest in the largest holes, the weak spots in space. All that this study tells me is how little scientists actually know, not how much they are learning, because the learning process has painful comments in it. They have gone from sticky collisions to electrostatic interactions, but they still think that electrostatic interactions require some sort of attraction... .. it's painful. Pincho Paxton
