This is a bit odd, I disagree with a rechecked study starting here... Many Psychology Findings Not as Strong as Claimed, Study SaysMoving to here (half way down the page)... Loneliness and Inanimate ObjectsThen to here... Creating Social Connection Through Inferential ReproductionSo the original study was found to be weaker after a rechecked study, however in this case I disagree with the recheck. Lonely people do attach themselves to inanimate objects, but for some reason the recheck has fallen over to the wrong side. I feel that the study should change direction to this... What about people that do not attach themselves to inanimate objects when lonely? The have less imagination, so why do these people have less imagination? Could be mobile phone use, or another outside distraction from the use of imagination. I therefore go with the first study, and ignore the second study. Why? Because I have the confidence in myself to do that. Pincho Paxton
