You could look at it another way. It has the appearance of a black hole with a bar across it. The bar is spinning around the hole, and lighting up the white patches, and giving them spin forces like cogs around a large wheel. The small patches then would be stars, and the large patch would be a black hole. The system would just be a propagation method for energy flow, and gravity. I say that, but I am going against the norm. Sometimes you just have to say what you are thinking even if you are wrong.
