I think it has to do with submissive to dominance ratio. Man are required to play the dominant role most of the time, and women required to play the submissive role. The high heel shoe is a sign of dominance in submission. That is the equivalent of a woman stating "I wear these shoes, they are not designed to be comfortable, but I wear them anyway." Which is a submissive role, but it is submissive in a loud way, which makes cause and effect a bit skewed. Cause = Dominance, Effect = Appearance of Submissiveness. Submissiveness therefore is role played by dominance. Men who read the signs wrongly have women walking over them in their high heels. Men who like to be dominated treat cause as cause without effect.
